Brian Dale

In the right hands

Professor Brian Dale was born in Stockport (England) in 1951. He has more than fourty years of experience in the field of reproduction. He was responsible for introducing the ICSI technique in Italy, Switzerland and the Middle East. He has also patented various instruments (CODA) and techniques in the field of assisted reproduction(AOT). In particular, systems to ensure non-toxic environments for human embryo growth in vitro and for the simplification of ART techniques.

During the course of his career, he has published 8 books and over 150 publications on fertility and embryology.

He has been a member of commissions since 1984 and project coordinator for numerous international organizations, including:

  • NATO
  • NIH (USA)
  • Royal Society
  • Pharmaceutical Serono
  • Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (Monbusho International Research Grant)
  • CEE

He is the founder and editor in chief of the international biology journal Zygote, published by Cambridge University Press. He is the author of the article “Reproduction: Artificial Insemination Techniques” published by the Encyclopaedia of the Twentieth century by Treccani.

He is the founder of Alpha, an international society of embryology, of which he was a member of the Board of Directors from 1994 to 2000. He is currently the manager of various assisted procreation centers in Italy and is an embryology consultant for various centres abroad: in England, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia.
